John's a lifelong educator. He's spent his career ensuring that the next generation of Alabamians are prepared and equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to be productive members of society and provide for themselves and their families.

John supports parental rights in education and encourages parents to be involved in their child's education. He believes the best education is one that follows the child from the schools to the home.

In the legislature, John will fight to ensure students, parents, and teachers all receive the resources needed to give children in Alabama the best education possible. He'll ensure children are prepared to enter the workforce, if that is what they choose, or the education preparedness needed to be successful in college.

John knows that for Alabama business owners to grow their businesses they need a workforce that is highly-skilled and well-trained. John will work to ensure Alabama's workforce is ready to tackle today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities.

As a lifelong educator, John will emphasize and encourage investments in skills training for students getting ready to enter the workforce. 

The constitutional rights of every Alabamian must be protected. John will oppose any and every threat that seeks to limit or infringe on the constitutional liberties of any Alabamian.

As your State Representative, John Jacobs will seek to expand the liberties of Alabamians and serve as a strong line of defense against those who seek to undermine or ignore the Constitution.

The right to defend yourself and your family is paramount in John's eyes. In the legislature, John Jacobs will preserve and protect the right to bear arms by the citizens of Alabama. He'll oppose efforts to infringe on the Second Amendment by law abiding citizens, business owners, and families.

John believes the Second Amendment to be the right that secures and ensures the other rights enumerated to Americans by the United States Constitution.

John will protect the freedom of speech from those who seek to limit it. The freedom of speech is the freedom that allows Americans to engage in discourse, democracy, and free thought.

John will oppose any and every attempt to limit speech, similar to those we are seeing on college campuses.

In the legislature, John will work to ensure Alabama becomes and remains a hub for new and emerging industry, thus creating new jobs across the state, with an emphasis on retaining and recruiting new jobs to District 37.

After years as an educator and an administrator in Randolph County, John knows the level of skill District 37's workforce holds. He'll serve as an economic development machine for our communities, partnering with high schools, community colleges, trade schools, and industry leaders to bring good, quality, high paying careers to our district without sacrificing its small town charm.

As a farmer himself, John knows the value farming brings to our communities, our families, and our district. In the legislature, John will fight to protect farmers from burdensome regulations, radical environmental policies, and federal overreach.

John will always have the backs of District 37's farmers and will oppose any effort that hinders the agricultural industry.

Navigating the thousands upon thousands of pages of bureaucratic red tape only serves to enrich government officials and unelected bureaucrats. John will cut, slash, and eliminate burdensome regulations and excessive spending.

John believes cutting red tape will free up the market, thereby allowing small business owners to thrive and compete in their industries, driving down prices for consumers and increasing the quality of goods as a result of free market competition.

John also believes slashing wasteful spending reduces the impulse of politicians and bureaucrats to raise additional taxes. As a fiscal conservative, John will watch every tax dollar like a hawk. He'll serve as a watchdog and ensure our government is held to the same budgeting standards as the taxpayers in House District 37.
